Hispanic Heritage Festival 2025

On September 27, 2025, I organized and led the Hispanic Heritage Festival at the Academy of Math and Science - Glendale, a vibrant community-centered event that celebrated culture, unity, and student engagement. The festival featured folklorico dancers, a salsa-making competition, and raffles with thousands of dollars in door prizes. All raffle items were donated and personally procured through community partnerships I developed, bringing the overall cost of the festival to the school down to a fraction of its projected expense while maintaining a high-quality experience. A notable highlight of the salsa-making competition was the participation of Glendale's mayor, Jerry Weiers, who served as one the judges, further elevating the event's visibility and community significance.

Another key highlight was the multi-district collaboration, including the student mariachi band whose performance showcased cultural artistry and strengthened partnerships across schools. By bringing together students, families, educators, community leaders, and neighboring districts, the festival fostered meaningful engagement and provided students with an authentic platform to celebrate Hispanic heritage through music, food, and shared cultural experiences. This event reflects my commitment to culturally responsive leadership, strategic resource management, and building strong, inclusive school-community relationships.
