School Climate

I believe that the climate of the school, is just as important as that of the classroom, which is why I have always felt that it is important to volunteer on a school wide level. During my time as an educator, I have had the opportunity to be the Science Club sponsor. The video below shows just one of many experiments that were carried out, which all helped to foster a love of science.

Additionally, I was integral in helping put together the Read Across America event in 2020. We wanted to do something different, so we had a "Books, Broncos, and BBQ" event. During the event, kids and parents read outside, and then were able to participate in line dancing, games, and food. Additionally, each person got to take home a "chip" as a souvenir, and which were used during the games. We also had a "photo-op" with different backgrounds that you could take a picture with.

In the Spring of 2021, I orchestrated a family event "The Am-Egg-Zing Race", where families went out the Surprise area, looking for clues and completing challenges. I believe that the more involved parents and families are within the school, the stronger the school.

Our school also fundraised in 2019-2020, my class raised the most money for the school - their prize was that they could pick a teacher to "slime" - what better teacher than their own?!?
